David Hogan, CPA

David Hogan is a native Oklahoman, born in Vinita and raised in the Oklahoma City area. He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, Oklahoma, in 1963 and joined the Oklahoma City office of Arthur Andersen & Co. He was admitted as a partner to Arthur Andersen in 1974 and transferred to Tulsa in 1977 as the partner in charge of their tax division. He resigned from Arthur Andersen in 1981 and founded HoganTaylor’s predecessor firm, Hogan & Slovacek.

David specialized as a tax consultant during his entire business career. While with Arthur Andersen, David was a member of the firm’s Family Tax Planning and Oil and Gas Tax Specialty Teams. In the years before his retirement, he had considerable experience in retirement, estate and personal financial planning.

He served as a frequent speaker at pre-retirement planning seminars provided by various companies to their employees. His clients included many closely held businesses for which he provided income and estate tax planning services to companies and their owners.

David is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has recently served as a member of the AICPA council. He is a member and past-president of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants. David holds the designation of Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also holds the designation of Certified Financial Planner. He is a former president of the Tulsa Tax Club and currently serves as the Chairman of the Finance Committee of RARC, Jenks, Oklahoma (a non-profit organization serving the developmentally disabled).
