Richard Ray has more than 30 years of experience managing IT projects, programs, PMOs, and Project management organizations. He began his career as a software developer and later moved into IT management and project management where he successfully managed multiple ERP implementations and large scale systems development projects such as SAP, Visibility ERP, Microsoft Dynamics SL, and various other off-the-shelf products and in-house developed systems. He has lead several software development organizations, program management offices and organizations, and was the corporate level IT Director for a $500 million manufacturer and a $100 million engineering firm. Experience in managing ERP, MRP, Financial, HR, Engineering, Marketing, and other critical corporate systems for clients from various industries gives Richard a deep and broad understanding of business systems and the need to focus IT goals on business outcomes that can be measured and help advance the organization’s key initiatives.
Richard also has extensive experience managing data center infrastructure, AWS cloud architectures, agile development methodologies, networks, and web based systems. He understands fast paced internet projects and led the infrastructure architecture team for the initial launch of Travelocity.com. As the chief budget analyst for a $180 million data center he was responsible for all financial reports, operational excellence reports, and multiple department’s capital and operating expense budgets.
Richards’s successes and clients include: Baker Hughes, Rockwell International, American Airlines, Sabre Inc., Travelocity, EDS, Hewlett-Packard, Arinc Inc., Koch Industries, Houston Interests, Williams Companies, Matrix Service Company, and Dollar-Thrifty to name a few. Richard earned the PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
