As Promised: A Tax Return Filed on a Postcard

That title might not be entirely accurate. By removing 50 lines from the Form 1040, the draft of the form is half page, printed front and back. It is the size of a postcard. The requirement to provide the information contained in the 50 lines did not disappear. The IRS is adding six schedules to attach to your post card return. The six schedules, all half page, are in addition to the current required forms ranging from Schedule A to Schedule SE. The draft return is not posted to the IRS website yet.
